Sterling & Zach

Had such fun with Sterling & Zach yesterday that I couldn’t help but edit and upload my favorite images! Not only was the location awesome for photographic reasons, but it has a place in both of their hearts (and now mine). The dirt road leads up to where Sterling grew up and the farm is Zach’s parent’s place. Sterling did such a great job in putting together their outfits; I really like how eclectic and feminine her’s were. Maybe I should give Zach some credit too? The car was an unexpected surprise! Zach’s dad is working on it so it will be ready to be Sterling & Zach’s get away car after the wedding.

Megan & Tanner

Had a great time in South Padre this weekend! Everyone dubiously asked, “South Padre in November?” J and I went up on Friday and camped on the beach. We made a fire and saw more stars than we ever have in our lives. Then on Saturday we met up with Megan & Tanner for an exciting adventure on the beach, bay, and dilapidated bus. There was suppose to be a kite festival hence the heart kite, but the wind died down… I’m glad because I love these ones so much better than if the kite was actually in the air! Thanks Tanner for proposing to Megan in South Padre! Can you use too many exclamation points? Not when you are as excited as I am about this shoot!!!

Andi & Donovan

Donovan proposed to Andi at Old Settler’s Park near the soccer fields where they spent much of their time in high school, both being soccer players and high school sweethearts.

Sarah & Earl’s Sneak Peek

Here is a sneak peek of Sarah & Earl’s portraits from their wedding this weekend at the Umlauf Sculpture Garden & Museum. The wedding truly had the “Garden Party” feel that Sarah hoped to achieve. Oh, and the robot cake! You’ll have to wait to see that one.

David & Ellen

David & Ellen were real troopers taking pictures in the 100+ weather (and she was due the next week) at multiple locations! I wanted to thank the clothing boutique Maya* on South Congress; they were so kind to let us pose in the windows. Go Local! David is a fan of long exposures so Justin & I gave a shot at capturing lightwriting (my idea, his execution). I’m going to give all the credit to Ellen for our success- she is a natural at air writing.

UPDATE: Oliver Huxley was born August 26th.

Beach Baby

Last week I spent the week at the beach with my family in Galveston. My cousin was nice enough to put on her bikini and let me practice my maternity photography. Ashley is due at the end of August. Did you visit the pictures of her and Alexey where he is wearing the space baby t-shirt? She is 8 weeks pregnant there. I really like that shoot because he is wearing a baby on his stomach and she has one in her’s! And this week on the beach is proof.

Phil & Leslie

Phil & Leslie had a destination wedding, but came home and had a nice reception at Barr Mansion with their friends and family.

Jodi’s Bridals

Leslie & Ferenc

This Memorial day we sat in traffic headed to Galveston for 2 hours. But it was worth it! I had been planning on taking photos at this train yard, but to my surprise there was a new addition- a 1950s liner that was out of commission. I’m not sure if Ike is responsible for this find, but I was psyched. We started off at the Strand since Leslie & Ferenc’s theme is going to be Alice in Wonderland. There’s just something about giant chess pieces. That was just warm up, I then got to have my fun at the rusted out liner. Later that night J had to go back in the dark to get a light stand we left aboard and he said it was one of the creepest moments of his life. There was this strange music that seemed to come from no where and I bet Tetanus can be a bit scary. A pretty good adventure. Thanks Leslie & Ferenc for being such good sports!

Leasure-Richardson Wedding

Ashley & Alexey

My cousin and her husband were in town from Kazakhstan (hence the cute Astronaut baby t-shirt).  They didn’t have many wedding photos from their quick ceremony in Oslo so I wanted to give them a couple’s session for a wedding present.  These were taken in the courtyard of San Jose Hotel on South Congress in Austin. San Jose Hotel is awesome, too. It has very minimalist, modern rooms. I love the landscaping so much that I’m hoping to incorporate the design into my own yard. Red Lava flower beds (picture of flower beds not included, sorry)!
